International Students

International students are non-U.S. citizens or non-U.S. permanent residents. You are eligible to apply to Chaminade University as an international student if you have completed the equivalent of a United States secondary (high school) education. You must provide official documents indicating your completion of education before enrolling at Chaminade University.

Academic Preparation

We do not require specific high school course credits for general admission. However, all applicants should have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent. Adequate preparation typically includes:

  • English: Four years
  • Social Studies: Three years
  • Mathematics: Three years
  • Science: Two years
  • College Preparatory Electives: Four years

Minimum Admission Requirements

  • Cumulative High School GPA: 2.50
  • Test Scores (TOEFL or IELTS are accepted for non-native English speakers):
    • TOEFL
      • Computer-based: 231
      • Internet-based: 79
      • Paper-based: 550
    • IELTS: Overall band scores of 6.0 with no individual band score below 5.0


Translation of School Documents

All academic documents written in a foreign language must be submitted after English translation. Applicants must submit official documents to WES (World Education Services) for evaluation. Your translated documents will be sent directly to the admissions office once the evaluation is complete. Students must submit the WES application and $150 processing fee to WES for the translation services.

Confidential Financial Statement

International students and their families must assume financial responsibility for all student expenses while studying at Chaminade University. In order to complete the student visa, students must supply the University with a completed Confidential Financial Statement Form and an official bank statement supporting the student’s ability to fund at least one full year of attendance at Chaminade University. Students should review our estimated cost of attendance before applying to Chaminade.

Students must submit full payment for tuition, room and board, and additional fees by the first day of class each semester. Students should verify government and bank regulations regarding sending money to the United States to ensure payments are received by the due date.

Chaminade University offers merit scholarships for qualified international applicants. Federal financial aid is not available for international students.
